چکیده

1. Most of Schatzker Type II and Type III tibial plateau fractures are seen in osteoporotic bones in older age and are comminuted most of the times which have been excluded from your study. 2. The diameter of the solid inner piston is 10 mm may not be sufficient to elevate comminuted fragments. 3. Why not use bone graft to support elevated bone fragments because we are not sure if the screw can hold entire elevated bone fragment? 4. In few cases you have use only one screw. Is single screw sufficient to hold the elevated fragment? 5. How to get this instrument if we want to use this? I would like to congratulate the author again and wish him all the best. We are eager to try this instrument in our institute . I thank the Journal of Orthopaedic Case Reports to for giving this opportunity. Warm regards

A New Device for Percutaneous Elevation of the Depressed Fractures of Tibial Condyles

INTRODUCTION Monocondylar tibia plateau fractures with non-comminuted fragments can be treated using percutaneous screws. Currently indirect methods of reduction are used and thus the technique is limited to fragments with less than 5 mm depression. The first author has designed a device for direct elevation and reduction of the fragments thus potentially expanding the indications of percutaneo...

Percutaneous inflation osteoplasty for indirect reduction of depressed tibial plateau fractures.

Anatomic reduction of articular depression tibial plateau fractures is challenging. The authors describe a new technique using percutaneous balloon-guided inflation osteoplasty for a depressed lateral tibial plateau fracture. The fluoroscopy-guided inflation osteoplasty restores the joint surface anatomically in a minimally invasive fashion. The metaphyseal void is filled with a fast-setting fl...

Schatzker type IV medial tibial plateau fractures: a computed tomography-based morphological subclassification.

Schatzker type IV medial tibial plateau fractures have an unfavorable prognosis, likely due to the mechanism of injury (fracture-dislocation/subluxation type) and possibly due to the involvement of the posterolateral plateau, which is different from previously thought. The aim of this study was to propose a new subclassification of Schatzker type IV fracture patterns based on 2-dimensional (2-D...

Outcome of Distal Both Bone Leg Fractures Fixed by Intramedulary Nail for Fibula & MIPPO in Tibia

Background:  Fractures of the distal third of the tibia are mostly associated with a fibular fracture that often requires fixation. The preferred treatment of distal tibial fracture is the minimally invasive percutaneous plate osteosynthesis  (MIPPO) procedure. However, there are no clear cut guidelines on fixation of the fibular fracture and currently most orthopedic surgeons use a plate osteo...
